One-time extension to the regularisation period for mopeds
On 10 December 2016, the first transition period for the registration of mopeds and light four-wheelers (such as motorised quadricycles, quad bikes and golf carts) ended. In total, 71,690 vehicles were regularised last year. The FPS Mobility and Transport is going to make a one-time extension of one year to this regularisation period.
Since 31 March 2014, all new mopeds have to be registered with the DIV and must have a license plate. Since 11 December 2015, this obligation also applied to mopeds and light four-wheelers that were bought before 31 March 2014. To give every owner the time and possibility to comply with this, a transition period of 1 year was given, and this period will now be extended further to 10 December 2017.
You can find out more information about the regularisation procedure on the website from FPS Mobility and Transport (French).
