Thwarted terror attack in Brussels Central train station
On Tuesday 20 June 2017 at 8.30 PM, a terror attack was thwarted in the Brussels Central train station. The perpetrator was immediately neutralised by the soldiers on-site, limiting the impact of the attack. This was reported by the Prime Minister at the press conference after a meeting of the National Security Council.
The Prime Minister confirmed that the Coordination Unit for Threat Analysis (OCAD) maintains the threat level at 3. Additional security measures are put in place and there will be more security for public events and public transport.
The Prime Minister also thanked the security services and staff of the SNCB-NMBS and STIB-MIVB for their swift and adequate response.
