Need to scrap your number plate? From 1 August, head to the DIV!

From 1 August 2025, the DIV (Vehicle Registration Service) will be the only agency competent to scrap number plates. You will need to send the plate by post to the DIV - 1212 Brussels, or drop it off at Rue du Progrès 56, 1210 Brussels, in the boxes provided. bpost no longer handles this procedure. The cancellation is recorded on the date of receipt by the DIV. If the plate is lost, you will need a police report to obtain a valid certificate.
